We’ve Been Where You Are
FamilyWorx is an advocacy team comprised of parents and primary caregivers whose children are involved in the public health system.
Team members work together to support parents and caregivers as someone who has been in their shoes.

We are a team of parents and primary caregivers who have experience navigating the child serving systems (education, juvenile justice, behavioral health, and more) with our own children.
We use our own stories and experiences to help support others become their own best advocate for their children and families.

We support Montgomery County families whose children and adolescents have behavioral health concerns navigate the public child serving systems—behavioral health, juvenile justice, child welfare, and education.

FamilyWorx is committed to creating an environment that meets the needs of young people and their families, working collaboratively to affect change as it relates to the child serving systems.
What We Offer
Support
In person and remote support for meetings, hearings, grievance reviews, etc. We can support with any child serving system
Mutual Aid support group meets twice per month
Advocacy
Represent family and youth voice at workgroups, system meetings, legislative forums, policy forums, etc
Education
Coaching, training and intensive consultation
Connection to community resources
Family Roadmap and safety planning
Tips and pointers from a family perspective
Empowerment
Strategic story sharing to give parents hope for the future
Help parents to collaborate, negotiate, speak up and become their own best advocates
Create opportunities to build a network of parents whose voice can be stronger together

Ongoing Support
Receive ongoing support from a Family Peer Support Partner who understands the challenges of navigating the behavioral health system. Family Peer Support Partners can help you identify resources, navigate systems, prepare for meetings, and work through challenges alongside your family.
Brief Support
Need help with a specific question or situation? Brief support provides short-term assistance from a Family Peer Support Partner. We can help you find information, connect with resources, file a complaint, or navigate a particular challenge.
Support Group
Join our virtual family support group for parents and caregivers from preschool through young adulthood with behavioral health concerns. Connect with other parents who share similar experiences, learn about resources, receive non-judgemental support, and share stories of hope and strength.
All support groups are co-facilitated by Family Peer Support Partners.
