Family Stories: Supporting Parents/Caregivers Through Youth Suicidality

You are not alone. Many families have experienced youth suicidal thoughts, behaviors, or loss. Some choose to share their experiences to help reduce isolation and support others who may be going through similar challenges.

HopeWorx Inc, in partnership with our youth suicide prevention grant collaborators, has created a series of short videos designed to support families navigating youth suicidality.

These videos feature parents and caregivers sharing their personal experiences, reflections, and insights from supporting young people through suicidal thoughts and behaviors, as well as stories from families who have experienced the death of a child by suicide. Through their voices, they offer honesty, encouragement, and perspectives on what helped during difficult times.

Our hope is that these stories provide comfort, connection, and reassurance to families who may feel alone in their journey.

These videos include personal stories about youth suicidality and suicide loss. Please take care while viewing and consider what feels right for you today. You may choose to pause, stop, or return at another time.

If you or someone you care about needs immediate support, you can call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911.
