Changes at HopeWorx

Message from Sue Shannon, Executive Director of HopeWorx:

Hi, everyone in the HopeWorx community – We have been undergoing some changes here at HopeWorx, and I wanted to let everyone know what is happening.

The HopeWorx Board of Directors has named Clare Higgins as the new Executive Director of HopeWorx beginning on July 1st, 2026, replacing me – I will be happily retiring after 20 years at HopeWorx.  I’m excited to pass the reins to Clare Higgins, who is the current Director of Family Programs at HopeWorx – Clare embodies the values of HopeWorx of person-centered peer support.

HopeWorx also recently announced the sad news that its community center in Norristown, called CommunityWorx, is closing on June 30th, 2026.

The AdvocacyWorx program will also be ending on June 30th, 2026.

The county-funded FamilyWorx, Family Satisfaction Team, Community Satisfaction Team and IM4Q programs are not impacted by the closure of these programs and will continue.

Thank you to everyone in the HopeWorx community for your support as we go through this transition.  We are all working together so that the changes that are happening do not leave anyone behind, at HopeWorx or among the people we support.

Thank you all. I am so grateful for the mental health community in Montgomery County.

Sue Shannon (she, her)
